Good morning gamers, it's a new year and we have reached the halfway point in our season already. The novice division has sailed away, and it's an open battlefield now. Former teammates have turned to foes, and no one is helping anybody anymore. Just kidding, but actually, January is a rather exciting month for us. In this edition of our monthly update, you will find our plans for the month and some interesting tidbits about this month's tournament as well as next month's, all for your consumption. Enjoy :).

On Saturday, January 26th, our team traveled to McMinnville High School to compete in the first all-open event of the year. This tournament marks an important ending to the regular competition season, as after this, we only have districts and state left. These are the following results from the tournament:
Shelbey Colt and Henry Dobesh (sophomores) - 2nd place Duo
Rachel Le (sophomore) - 7th place Informative
Ameer Al-Saood (sophomore) - 1st place LIELL
Zane Al-Saood (freshman) - 4th place LIELL
We had so much fun! You can catch all the action on the vlog from the tournament that will be released as soon as Rachel figures out how to use a computer.
Once again, thanks to those who have volunteered their time as judges, bus drivers, and coaches. You are also responsible for the successes we have been experiencing this year!

This month features one birthday, and it belongs to the freshman who wears his girlfriend's sweater, Jesse Fonseca, who is turning 15 years old. He is the mini me to Matthew's Austin Powers and the face in all of our nightmares. He does parli with his fellow comrade Ethan Miller, and has recently dabbled in extemp.

That's all for January, although I highly recommend checking back after McMinnville so you can see what happened. We never fail to give you comprehensive coverage on our events, even if it is three days late. Thank you readers, here's to 2019.
